Salary: $50,315.00 annually

General Description: Architectural Designer & Rendering Specialist will assist in the creation of the architectural design of our custom luxury homes. 

• Responsible for communicating the design details to the client through illustrations ranging from conceptual art to photorealistic quality renderings.  


• Must understand the style of each project to ensure the rendering sets are an accurate reflection of the design intent. Create a variety of high-quality interior and exterior architectural 3D models and construct accurate high quality, realistic 3D renderings. 


• They will be a resource for the Architectural Design Team and bring creative new ideas and innovative solutions to the company. 


• They will provide research and testing on new software techniques and industry trends to keep Windstar Homes at the cutting edge of design.  

This is an in-house position, option to work remotely is not available.   

Responsibilities:  

• Digitally create design sketches, final illustrations, and photorealistic renderings of architectural concepts, environments, sets, and props. 


• Create 3D massing models from architectural plans. Apply textures to the models and provide appropriate lighting techniques.  


• Assist in developing and creating the aesthetic requirements on final designs. 


• Create deliverables per the specifications of design, including fully rendered hero shots as well as detail callouts and material/texture information. 


• Manage the 3D process from start to finish including preparation and setup of scenes. 


• Work to project deadlines as scheduled by the Design Team.  


• Work with the Architectural Design Team to provide design iterations, marketing material and concept images. 


• Coordinate and maintain project files including correspondence, drawings, and other relevant materials associated with projects.  


• Track new software and technology trends and work with the team to bring in new skills and tools, both within and beyond standard software. 


• Photograph, edit, retouch, and color correct product images for placement on our site, publications, email campaigns, catalogs, brochures, advertising, and more


• Create and iterate 3D design projects through rendering software such as 3D Studio Max, as well as AutoCAD and Photoshop when needed. 


• Develop high quality and cutting-edge, high profile 3D renderings of lighting and interior design. 


• Read and interpret architectural drawings including structural and electrical plans and translate the architectural details to create a 3D model and conversely create detailed technical drawings from 3D models 


• Assist the construction and interior design team with field visits and project installations to ensure proposed design concept is executed to specifics. 


• Proactively alert team members of project design changes which may affect time and costs of the project. 


• Incorporate designs into a full motion video environment using motion tracking capabilities. 


• Review and maintain prototype drawings and documents for cost-effective and timely use in projects. 


• Conduct necessary research, including visiting the construction site, taking photos, and documenting unique design elements of the surrounding environment. 


• Use before and after videography and photography of site to develop realistic visualizations of designs as well as highlight videos. 


• Check for code compliance, coordinate with consultants / contractors and develop construction details. 

Required Skills:  

• Degree in architecture or equivalent is required. 


• Strong understanding of perspective required  


• Proficient in rendering to a photorealistic level.  


• Have a clear understanding of a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality.  


• Ability to support business development and marketing initiatives in the development of proposals, collateral material, and design presentations. 


• Must have experience creating and modifying models in real time and rendering custom residential architectural and landscape designs. 


• Must have in depth experience with a variety of architectural styles with a strong emphasis in Mediterranean, 


• Modern, Craftsman and Coastal vernaculars. 


• Must have hands on experience using Adobe Premier Pro and be able to create and edit video walk-throughs and animation for post-production work 


• Must demonstrate proficiency with the following software: Excel, Power Point, Word, Blue Beam, D5 Render; Adobe Creative Suite


• Must have experience with building material research / implementation and sustainability 


• Must have experience with Florida Building Codes


• Must be able to model using 3D Max Studio 


• Must have at least on year of experience in each of the following software programs: Revit, Sketch-Up, 3D Studio Max, AutoCAD; Photoshop;In-Design


• Must live in the Tampa Bay Area and be able to travel to and from project sites and attend in-person client, project, and construction meetings. 


• Must have his or her own source of transportation and a valid driver’s license


• Must be able to speak and write fluently in English
