Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is excited to offer and announce a competitive opportunity to serve as a part-time Business Analyst in our Central Office Maintenance Division.
The selected candidate will be responsible for keying and tracking radio inventory data into excel and the agency maintenance application, M5. Pay invoices for radio part orders and submissions utilizing Financial Document Management System (FDMS). Assist with coordination of radio disposal. Lead, organize, and maintain radio inventory of the radio warehouse located in Petersburg, VA. Fulfill radio and maintenance item orders submitted into the SAMS IT ticketing system. Maintain inventory of radio distribution to districts utilizing M5 for data tracking. Assist with maintenance of division documentation to include scanning documents. Work alongside the State Radio Manager daily tracking the division budget and assisting with duties as assigned.
This position is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly(wage) positions may not work more than an average of 29 hours per week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during the wage employment year (May1-April 30. This position does not include health insurance, retirement, or leave benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to research, analyze, format financial data, and prepare reports and
recommendations.
• Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of procurement principles and practices.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Access, Google applications and SharePoint SPOL.
Additional Considerations
• VCO or VCA certification desired.
• Knowledge of federal and state accounting principles and practices.
• A combination of training, experience, or education in Business Administration, Public
Administration, or related field desired.
• Prior work experience with financial management systems.
• Functional and technical knowledge to use Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Google Email, and SharePoint SPOL) at a high level of accomplishment.
