Yorklyn Construction is looking for a new carpenter to join our team!  The right person will have at least 5 to 10 years of carpentry, framing, renovation and construction experience, be willing to work alongside our lead carpenters and take the lead on other smaller projects.  Yorklyn is a locally owned, full-service home improvement company that has been serving York County for 50 years. Our commitment lies in providing our customers with high quality products and installation.

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

• Lead carpenter helper – function as a right-hand man to YCC lead carpenters.   You will be working alongside them, helping and learning from our top carpenters.
• Small carpentry jobs – run and lead your own smaller jobs with lead carpenters’ guidance and while upholding the level of work and professionalism that meets Yorklyn’s standards.
• Handyman and service calls – exceed customer expectations by providing top-level service for small handyman-type jobs and service calls.   Help cultivate referrals by doing a great job on smaller jobs and instilling confidence in customers that Yorklyn is the right choice for large jobs.
• Punch list items – effectively execute and complete punch lists across various jobs.  The final 5% of a job is the hardest!

Work details

• Standard work week = M – F, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.    Flexibility required for completing the job and staying on schedule.  Some overtime available/expected.
• Possession of valid driver’s license and reliable transportation;  ability to pass periodic drug testing and screening.
• Basic carpenter’s toolset: Yorklyn will furnish and provide any specialty tools, you are expected to provide and use your own basic tools including hand tools, power drill, circular saw, etc.

Compensation

• $18 - $25 / hour, dependent upon experience, ability, and skillset.
  • Seven (7) paid holidays each year, paid vacation time, and 401k plan.
  • Use of company vehicle, reimbursement for job related expenses, including fuel allowance and travel costs.
