Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented Surveyor to support the regulation and monitoring of child care facilities throughout the region. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in early childhood development, education, social work, or a related field who is passionate about ensuring safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environments for children. Working under supervision at the journey level, the Surveyor will evaluate licensed and unlicensed facilities in accordance with NRS 432A, provide consultation to child care providers, and assist with training initiatives designed to improve program quality and compliance.

This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will bring experience in early childhood program administration or evaluation, along with the ability to interpret and apply state regulations. Key Responsibilities
  • Regulate and monitor child care facilities in accordance with NRS 432A guidelines
  • Conduct on site evaluations of licensed and unlicensed facilities
  • Investigate complaints received from citizens, agencies, and partner organizations
  • Provide child care consultation and support to facility operators
  • Deliver training and guidance to help providers meet compliance and quality standards
  • Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and communicate findings to supervisors
  • Travel as needed to assigned sites (active driver's license required)
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, social work, or a closely related field and one year of professional experience providing developmental or educational services to children in an early childhood program, including program administration; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, social work, or a closely related field and one year of professional experience evaluating child development or early childhood education programs; OR
  • One year of experience as a Child Care Facilities Surveyor Trainee in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Additional Requirements:

  • Active and valid driver's license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision making abilities
