JOB SUMMARY

Maylor Foundation Contractors seeks an experienced Civil Construction Foreman to lead a field crew on geotechnical and deep foundation projects. You own job site production, direct your crew, and coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to deliver every project safely, on schedule, and to specification. This role demands a field professional who commands respect on site, communicates clearly with both crew and management, and understands civil construction and specialty foundation work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Site Leadership & Production

• Direct daily operations for all assigned projects from mobilization through demobilization.

• Monitor production rates and communicate progress, delays, or resource gaps to the Project Manager daily.

• Manage crew performance, task assignments, and overall job site efficiency to maximize production output and meet project milestones.

• Coordinate equipment positioning, crew staging, and material flow to eliminate downtime and keep the rig running.

• Troubleshoot field conditions - soil, access, weather, equipment - and make real-time decisions to keep work moving.

• This is a hands-on leadership position. While overseeing site operations and managing the crew are critical components of the role, the Foreman is expected to function as a 'working foreman.' You will actively perform physical labor and execute technical tasks alongside the team, leading by example to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met on every project.

Crew Management

• Directly supervise 4-8 field personnel including operators, laborers, and subcontract workers.

• Set daily expectations, hold crew accountable to production standards, and complete daily timesheets with accurate cost coding.

• Mentor junior crew members; resolve conflicts promptly and escalate personnel issues to management when needed.

Project Manager Coordination & Reporting

• Maintain daily communication with the Project Managers and Superintendents on schedule, production, and any changed conditions or potential claims.

• Review plans, drawings, and specifications daily; flag discrepancies between design and field conditions immediately.

Safety Leadership

• Conduct daily toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) meetings; document attendance before work begins.

• Enforce OSHA, Maylor safety policies, and site-specific plans - maintain strict Red Zone control around operating equipment.

• Stop work on any imminent danger conditions and notify PM's, Superintendents and Safety Officer immediately.

• Lead incident investigations in coordination with management; complete all required documentation within required timeframes.

• Ensure all crew members are wearing and properly using required PPE at all times.

• Maintain strict control of exclusion zones, Red Zones around operating equipment, and overhead hazard areas.

• Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and ensure any deficiencies are logged and resolved before operation.

Daily Documentation

• Complete Daily Field Reports (DFRs) documenting crew hours, equipment, work performed, quantities, weather, and notable events.

• Maintain production logs specific to the work type (pile, drilling, lagging drilled shaft records, etc.).

• Photograph work in progress with associated notes showing progress and concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years in civil/heavy construction with geotechnical or deep foundation work (driven pile, drilled shafts, earth retention, or marine construction).

• 2+ years in a foreman or crew lead role with direct supervisory responsibility.

• Ability to read foundation plans, boring logs, shop drawings, and geotechnical reports.

• Working knowledge of excavators, cranes, drill rigs, impact/vibratory hammers, or auger systems; familiarity with Florida soil conditions.

Required Certifications

• Valid Florida Driver's License - clean MVR

• Osha 10

Preferred Certifications

• NCCCO Crane Operator or Rigger/Signal Person

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (current)

• First Aid / CPR (current)
