Founded in 1927, Head Inc. is a general contractor that specializes in concrete and asphalt paving on airfields. Since its inception, Head Inc. has been involved in public works projects. Our work experience includes projects for the Department of Energy, the Navy, the Corps of Engineers and various municipalities, as well as private industry.

Description:

Supervises and coordinates the work of a crew of workers within a specific craft or trade. Assist Superintendent in various activities. 

Essential Role:

Their main concern is ensuring that employees under their management do their jobs skillfully and efficiently while making sure assigned work is progressing in a timely manner.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-5+ years construction Foreman experience 
  • 10 years of construction experience
  • Appropriate training and experience required
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
  • Efficiently manage multiple crews at one time. 
  • Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
  • Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures
  • Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
  • Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
  • Customer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationship.
  • Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to workers.
  • Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining complex information to construction workers and discussing technical details 
  • Technical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with technical drawings.
  • Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensuring construction phases are completed on time so that the next phase can start.
