Position: Estimator
Location: Kansas City

Job Responsibilities
Perform quantity takeoffs and project estimates
Call vendors and subcontractors for quotes
Work with 3rd party engineers for final design once project has been awarded
Understand and follow company policies and procedures
Prepare proposals and quotations to present to clients.
Knowledgeable on plans and specifications for relevant builds and bids
Identify opportunities and jobs to bid, bid jobs and manage those jobs

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy highway, bridge construction and railroads
Experience reading engineer approved plans and specifications
Basic computer/electronics knowledge to support daily use of smartphone, laptop, etc. for completing reports and communicating
Experience with estimating software, HCSS Heavy Bid is optimal
Experience with accounting software and ability to track job costs.
Proven experience with and willingness to focus on safety policies, procedures, and regulations
Effective communication skills and the ability to work as a team to jointly carry out assigned tasks
Current Driver's License with a favorable driving record
Ability to gain E-railsafe clearance
Understanding of heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators and pile drivers and other equipment commonly used for shoring installation
