R. B. Jergens is an industry-leading large heavy-civil contractor near Dayton, Ohio that self-performs road construction, site development, mass excavation, concrete pavement, structures, and underground utilities.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Construction Estimator/Construction Project Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will become a key team member, playing a lead role in project procurement and bidding for public and private projects. Growth and development opportunities are significant and will be based on the individual’s skills and results. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus but not a requirement.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy civil industry - specifically excavation, underground utilities, and concrete.
• Experience as an Estimator with a specialization in bidding ODOT and Local Public Projects.
• Experience with Bid2Win and/or Heavy Bid estimating software.
• Familiarity with ODOT specifications and project execution requirements, including scheduling and project management.
• Knowledge of local and state public works contracting requirements, diversity initiatives and prevailing wage guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Project selection, estimation, take-offs, business development, bid submissions, and budget preparation.
• Solicit and evaluate competitive bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend project meetings, pre-bid meetings, etc. in person to support the field execution, as required.
