Job Description
D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., was founded in 1978 and is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. It is engaged in the construction and sale of high quality homes designed principally for the entry-level and first time move-up markets. The company also provides mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers through its mortgage and title subsidiaries. D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Construction Manager. The right candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all construction field-related activities to ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are met. Responsible for establishing the construction scheduling, field policies and procedures, and the overall community job sites for safety and appearance. Continually interfaces with all departments to achieve division goals. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises 2 or more employees
Qualifications: Education and/or experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ten years related experience and/or training. Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license. High degree of construction knowledge and management skills. Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules. General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes. Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel. Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction. Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget. Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop. Proficiency with MS Office and email. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Work effectively in a high pressure and high production environment. English/Spanish bilingual skills a plus.
