Clearance: Must be able to pass a federal background investigation; CBP suitability preferred

We are seeking an experienced Construction Oversight Specialist to support our growing portfolio of infrastructure programs within U.S. Border Patrol areas of operation.


Position Overview:

This role provides field-based quality assurance, safety oversight, and compliance monitoring across multiple federal construction projects along the southern border. The Construction Oversight Specialist will serve as a liaison between government representatives and construction contractors, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with federal standards, contract requirements, and environmental protocols. The position requires frequent travel across U.S. Border Patrol Sectors and the ability to work semi-independently in remote, fast-paced, and high-security environments.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain day-to-day field surveillance over all phases of construction activities
  • Monitor contractor adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and scheduling standards
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, field measurements, and layout verification
  • Review contractor schedules and assess progress against timelines
  • Prepare detailed daily field reports documenting progress, issues, and on-site conditions
  • Support quality control and environmental compliance per contract requirements
  • Coordinate with Government CORs and project managers on field execution
  • Interface with contractor site representatives to provide direction or clarification
  • Support public outreach or field stakeholder engagements as needed
  • Travel regularly between project sites within the defined sector area of responsibility
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 11 years of construction industry experience, including 9+ years of specialized QA/QC or field surveillance work
  • Demonstrated experience supporting horizontal construction projects (e.g., roads, fencing, utilities)
  • Experience overseeing federal or military infrastructure projects highly preferred
  • Must be proficient with field reporting tools and project software (e.g., Excel, Procore, Autodesk)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident in representing QA findings to stakeholders
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple, concurrent site visits and tasks
Preferred Certifications:
  • OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 (Construction)
  • Construction Quality Management (CQM)
  • EM 385-1-1 Safety Standards
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certification
Additional Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation, including criminal, financial, residential, and employment checks
  • Prior CBP, USACE, DHS, or DOD experience a plus
  • Ability to travel to and between remote field sites along the southern border

Compensation details: 40-45 Hourly Wage
