Job Duties


VDOT’s Staunton District Interstate Maintenance Office is seeking a Contract Administrator Supervisor for the District’s southern region (Augusta, Rockbridge and Allegheny Counties) to provide the management and daily oversight of all work activities within the South project area. The successful candidate will manage the various operations and work activities associated with the daily performance of the South interstate maintenance project. They will ensure compliance with all contractual performance requirements, manage project budgets and expenditures, develop work plans, review and inspect completed field work and provide management of assigned contract monitors. Plan and monitor maintenance accomplishments and reports in HMMS. Ensure Work Orders are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner.


Minimum Qualifications


• Ability to resolve issues, negotiate resolutions and work independently while managing multiple projects with milestones that must be met.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with contractors, VDOT staff, lead and facilitate meetings and discussions.
• Experience supervising staff, programs and evaluating the work of others to include contractual performance assessments.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance, construction equipment, materials, methods, as well as OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Experience developing and monitoring budgets, as well as planning, monitoring and evaluating maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of the Incident Command structure and Interstate incident response activities. The ability to represent VDOT at incidents in a command or support role.
• Experience in contract management and administration, general knowledge of procurement regulations.
• Experience updating, maintaining a variety of records, as well as analyzing and compiling information into reports and presentations.
• Skill in operating computers, software systems to include MS Office and highway maintenance tracking software.
• Valid driver's license.


Additional Considerations


• Knowledge of VDOT's Road and Bridge Standards and Specifications.
• Experience developing contract specifications and engineering estimates.
• A combination of training, experience, or education in Civil Engineering or related field desired.
