Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contracts Manager to join our team in Stoney Creek Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contracts management, from the initial review and negotiation phase through to contract execution. The Contracts Manager will work closely with other branches within the organization, including finance, sales and operations, to ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
 
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS   


Uphold the vision statement and core values of Nucor Harris Rebar.
Liaise and provide guidance and support to Canadian regional operational offices, internal staff to coordinate negotiation efforts as required.
Interpret contracts and ensure compliance with contract terms and the requirements of the Scope of the Work, Change Requests for contract changes and amendments. Capture business requirements for new contracts.
On all standard and non-standard contracts negotiate directly with General Contractors, Consultants, project managers, lawyers and in-house counsels to establish acceptable terms for contract amendment/changes attorneys until agreement has been reached.
Identify and closely monitor contractual risks to avoid or mitigate additional costs, back charges, penalties, and delays.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that contractual obligations are met and that contract deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
Facilitate legal discussions on unresolved contractual issues.
Monitor and report on contract performance, including compliance with terms and conditions, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations that may impact contract management.


 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline “ or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Advanced degree would be an asset.
5+ years of experience in contracts management or strong knowledge of contract law, including contract drafting and negotiation. 
Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Acrobat Reader, and Navision. 
Be a self-starter who can learn new concepts and terminology quickly, ability to conduct own research as required.
Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in an effective manner. 
Bilingual in English and French “ both written and verbal is considered an asset
