Position Summary:


The DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the participation of DBEs in construction projects. This role involves monitoring, reporting, and ensuring adherence to DBE requirements, as well as fostering relationships with DBE firms to facilitate their involvement in company projects.


Responsibilities: 



  • Ensure that the company meets all DBE participation goals and requirements as stipulated by contract agreements, federal regulations, and local guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all DBE activities, including participation reports, certifications, and related compliance documents.

  • Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders, ensuring all deadlines are met and that reports are accurate and comprehensive.

  • Actively seek out and engage with certified DBE firms to increase their participation in the company's projects. Coordinate pre-bid and pre-construction meetings with DBE firms and project managers.

  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on DBE compliance requirements, ensuring that all project managers, estimators, and procurement staff are aware of DBE goals and processes.

  • Review bids and proposals to ensure that DBE goals are incorporated and met. Work with procurement teams to identify DBE firms for inclusion in project bids.

  • Serve as the primary contact for DBE-related issues, acting as a liaison between the company, DBE firms, and regulatory agencies. Address and resolve any compliance issues or concerns that arise during project execution.

  • Prepare for and participate in audits or reviews conducted by regulatory agencies, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are readily available.

  • Identify and implement improvements in the DBE compliance process, including developing strategies to enhance DBE participation and streamline reporting processes.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, procurement, or project management, with a focus on DBE, MBE, WBE, or similar programs.

  • Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office.
