Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking an entry-level engineer to work alongside the Assistant Resident Engineer Land Use to assist with the administration of land development projects, permit approvals, and subdivision inspection and acceptance for the counties of Fluvanna, Louisa and Orange within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with local government officials, developers, consultants, and VDOT staff to assess the soundness of designs and the impacts of land development applications on the state-maintained road network. Will also perform technical reviews of engineering plans to include site plans, subdivision plans, roadway plans, and utility plans.
This position is open until filled and screening will begin on October 4, 2024, and then will occur every two weeks thereafter.
