Utility Foreman (Underground Wet Utility Construction)

Utility Foreman (Underground Wet Utility Construction) Project Responsibilities:
- Supervises team of 6-7 workers, assigns daily tasks, tracks attendance, and handles worker training or career growth
- Studies blueprints, specifications, and project layouts to determine the best means and methods for pipe installation
- Uses laser instruments, grade rods, transit levels, and other layout tools to ensure pipes are set accurately and to the correct slope
- Utilizes heavy machinery (e.g. excavators) to dig trenches, lower pipe, and backfill the area after installation
- Inspects completed work to ensure it passes all inspections and meets industry standards and engineering specifications. Complete all required acceptance testing
- Enforces OSHA regulations, conducts daily safety briefings, and ensures confined space entry and excavation safety protocols are followed
Position Requirements Include:
- 2 to 5+ years experience installing water, sewer and storm in residential, commercial, and public projects
- OSHA 10 of OSHA 30 preferred but not required. Confined Space and Trench Safety Training is required
- Must be physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, working in trenches, and operating in all weather extremes
- Strong proficiency with reading construction drawings, strong ability to confidently operate heavy mobile equipment, utilizes site levels and pipe lasers. Calculates grades and slopes
- Must have valid Drivers License with clean DMV or crew member with a license
- Bi-lingual is a bonus but not required
