We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a range of construction equipment. This includes conducting regular inspections, performing repairs and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, and ensuring that all machines are in safe and optimal working condition. Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and check for signs of wear, damage, or malfunctioning parts that may affect performance or safety.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on various types of equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate repair or maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems and have an in-depth understanding of diagnosing and repairing of these systems.
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing equipment, parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Test repaired equipment for proper function and performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company/manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain and organize company and personal supplies and tools for efficient use during repairs and maintenance.
• Communicates and collaborates with other team members and Superintendents to ensure smooth and efficient workflow to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine welding and fabrication work for field repairs on equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Proficiency in using fleet maintenance software programs for documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

The compensation will vary based on experience ranging between $35-$45 per hour.
