Job Title: Fabrication Shop Helper
Location: Long Beach, Mississippi (Manufacturing & Fabrication Facility)
Reports To: Fabrication Shop Foreman / Superintendent
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Core Responsibilities
Material Handling: Load, unload, and safely distribute raw metals, steel pipe spools, and sheet metal components.
Shop Support: Assist skilled pipefitters, welders, and sheet metal mechanics with assembly preparation.
Equipment Tending: Operate basic shop equipment, hand tools, and material transport devices (e.g., pallet jacks, overhead cranes if certified).
Quality & Blueprint Following: Read basic production instructions, shop tags, and follow detailed workflow layouts.
Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a secure and clean work environment, adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in a construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial shop environment.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged shifts, and perform repetitive physical tasks (bending, kneeling, climbing).
Reliability: Reliable daily transportation to the Long Beach facility and a punctual, team-first work ethic.
Communication: Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with shop leads and project teams.
