DHI Communities is a multifamily development division of D.R. Horton, Inc.



 



DHI Communities is currently looking for a Multifamily-Design Manager. The right candidate will manage all aspects of multifamily design including pre-development planning, plan production and coordination, and coordination with DHIC’s Construction team.



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Support due diligence investigations to create alignment in processes and results

  • Monitor required entitlement, permitting activities and schedules

  • Participate in decision-making regarding product, plan mix, parking, and design strategy

  • Manage design consultant work and relationships

  • Review drawings for code compliance, plan coordination, and adherence to company standards

  • Assist Development and Construction teams with construction, code, and design related matters

  • Participate in conference calls with the construction teams

  • Participate with Development & Construction teams regarding RFIs and Submittals

  • Review projects for design consistency including coordination between all design consultants

  • Work with Interior Designer consultant on finishes and FF&E selections

  • Oversee exterior furniture and signage design and procurement

  • Visit construction sites on a regular basis to perform box walks, punch walks, and interior design installations (FF&E, outdoor furniture, and model units)

  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

  • Be a conduit to share new design concepts and products throughout all projects in the region

  • Tour multifamily competitors and other sources to remain current on design trends

  • Periodically attend multifamily and design-related conferences/conventions

  • Ability to travel overnight

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Real Estate or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-family real estate, development/acquisitions

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to conduct presentations to the Investment and Executive Committees

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to relate to others and respond effectively to inquiries or complaints

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications

  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
