Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Legal team at our corporate headquarters in Bridgeview, IL. The Paralegal will perform a wide variety of corporate and litigation related tasks and will report directly to and be under the supervision of General Counsel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the contracting process and organize and manage all customer and vendor contracts, utilizing the company's management systems.


• Perform contract review and light drafting of agreements utilizing both template and some custom language.


• Compile discovery documents and assist with drafting and answering discovery requests for litigation matters.


• Process and investigate new personal injury, workers' compensation, and property damage claims.


• Research real estate ownership records and prepare mechanics liens and related documents.


• Assist with compiling and reviewing M&A due diligence


• Communicate and interact with claimants, outside counsel, and insurance adjusters.


• Maintain and renew annual filings and business and contractor's licenses for multiple entities.


• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree.


• Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience.


• Minimum 3 years of law firm and/or in-house experience working with construction contracts and other commercial contracts, personal injury, workers compensation and M&A. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not have experience in each of those areas of law.


• Capable of handling a wide range of legal issues that confront a legal department in many areas of law such as construction, employment, insurance coverage, personal injury, workers compensation and M&A.


• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts including outside attorneys, insurance adjusters, C-Suite and Board, other departments, and customers.


• Excellent organizational skills.


• Must have a sense of urgency and a natural ability to work in a fast-paced and growing environment.


• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.


• Prior experience with legal practice management software.


• Must be comfortable with a hands-on environment of high communication.
