This job is in Boise: The Plumbing & Fire Protection Construction Manager will lead full project execution of plumbing and fire protection scopes on large-scale industrial, commercial, and high-tech construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing field operations from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant installation of all plumbing and fire protection systems.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead all field execution activities for plumbing and fire protection scopes from mobilization through turnover
  • Oversee multiple subcontractors and self-perform crews across active job sites
  • Serve as primary field authority for plumbing and fire protection installation, sequencing, and constructability
  • Coordinate directly with General Contractors, Construction Managers, Engineers, and client representatives

Schedule, Cost & Production Control

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules in coordination with overall project milestones
  • Track manpower loading, production rates, and field progress to ensure schedule adherence
  • Support project cost control efforts, including tracking field changes, scope adjustments, and productivity impacts
  • Assist in developing work plans that align with budget, schedule, and manpower constraints

Coordination & Preconstruction Support

  • Lead coordination between plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural trades
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure full scope alignment prior to installation
  • Manage RFIs, field conflicts, and design clarification requests with project teams and design partners
  • Provide field input for estimating, scope validation, and constructability reviews

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce strict QA/QC standards for all plumbing and fire protection installations
  • Ensure full compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, permitting requirements, and project specifications
  • Lead field safety compliance efforts and ensure adherence to all OSHA and site-specific safety programs
  • Conduct field inspections, system checks, and readiness verification prior to inspections and turnover

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key field liaison between ownership, design teams, subcontractors, and project leadership
  • Provide regular updates on field progress, risks, delays, and recovery plans
  • Support resolution of technical, scheduling, and coordination issues in real time

Project Closeout & Turnover

  • Ensure systems are fully installed, tested, documented, and ready for commissioning
  • Support startup, testing, and commissioning activities for plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Manage punch list resolution and turnover documentation


Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of plumbing and fire protection construction experience required
  • Proven experience leading field operations on large commercial, industrial, or high-tech projects
  • Experience in mission-critical, semiconductor, or cleanroom environments strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems including underground utilities, fire mains, and sprinkler systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and coordination models
  • Experience managing subcontractors, field crews, and multi-trade coordination
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field logistics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, P6, or similar platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and field inspections
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Regular exposure to construction noise, dust, and active jobsite conditions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in field and office environments
