Project Manager, Assistant - Commercial Construction

 

DRD Builders, Inc. is a commercial general contractor focused on the QSR, Fast Food Restaurant sector. Our projects are fast-paced and require attention to detail. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organized APM with 5+ years of commercial construction experience to join our team.

The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, a self-starter and has great problem-solving skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 consecutive years within the commercial construction field.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of restaurants/equipment is a plus.
  • Communicate effectively and build a rapport with subcontractors, clients, and material suppliers.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
  • Preferred knowledge of Bid Mail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work well as a team player and take direction from Management.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting Project Manager(s) across multiple projects.
  • Assist with preparation of construction documents including subcontractor scopes of work, subcontractor change orders and owner change orders.
  • Assist with finalizing and placing vendor orders and preparation of purchase orders.
  • Initiate subcontractor and vendor submittals for approval from the Architect/Client with follow up.
  • Communicate with Project Superintendents regarding job progress.
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Interpret project drawings and documents to assist in estimate preparation.
  • Track and follow through with RFI’s and owner change orders.
