We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee heavy civil construction projects involving highways, bridges, underground utilities, drainage systems, and roadway infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing TxDOT, FHWA, USACE, or other federal/state transportation projects while ensuring compliance with contract documents, project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
The Superintendent will be responsible for supervising field operations, coordinating subcontractors, managing project schedules, maintaining quality control, and ensuring successful project completion.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of heavy civil construction experience as a Superintendent.
- Proven experience on TxDOT, FHWA, Federal Highway, USACE, or other federally funded roadway projects.

- Roadways and highways
- Bridges and bridge approaches
- Underground storm drainage
- Water and sanitary sewer utilities
- Box culverts
- Retaining walls
- Earthwork and embankment
- Asphalt paving
- Concrete paving
- Structural concrete
- Experience working under TxDOT Standard Specifications and FHWA FP-14 or FP-24 Specifications is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily field construction activities.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project owners.
- Develop and maintain daily work plans and production schedules.
- Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
- Lead safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
- Monitor productivity and labor performance.
- Review project schedules and identify potential delays.
- Coordinate inspections and material testing.
- Maintain project documentation, including:
- Daily Reports
- Quantity Tracking
- Equipment Logs
- Weather Reports
- Safety Documentation
- Coordinate utility relocations and traffic control operations.
- Manage erosion control and SWPPP compliance.
- Attend project meetings with owners, engineers, and inspectors.
- Resolve field issues while minimizing schedule impacts.

- First Aid / CPR
- Competent Person Training
- Traffic Control Supervisor Certification
- TxDOT or FHWA project experience
- Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to walk active construction sites daily.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
