As a Residency Administrator you will ensure the coordination, integration, and management of VDOT resources impacting the highways that connect communities and drive progress across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

This opportunity is based in our Lebanon Residency and covers the counties of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazwell VA, reporting directly to the Bristol District. Lebanon VA is located in the rolling hills of the Clinch Mountain and is surrounded by picturesque views, hiking trails, county fairs, hunting and fishing and much much more!

Core Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

· Administration of maintenance budgets

· Proactive management of resources and expenditures

· Coordination of Land Development activities to ensure the best operational and industry practices are being utilized to support economic development.

· Identification of emergency residency trends as they relate to transportation projects and future needs

· Promoting planning, allocation of resources and delivery of services through evaluation, as well as analysis and strategic planning.

VDOT is an emergency response agency, and this position is considered essential, therefore you will work outside of normal work hours during emergency operations.



Minimum Qualifications


• Experience applying federal and state rules, regulations, and policies as they relate to
transportation.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external
stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage and direct the activities of a large-scale multi-faceted public service
operation to include budgeting, prioritizing, scheduling, and problem solving.
• Valid driver's license.
• Skilled in the use of computers and software applications.
• Ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Knowledge of financial and human resources management principles and practices.
• Experience applying transportation engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to work effectively with customers with multiple needs or interests to resolve issues
and complaints.
• Skill in maintaining effective relationships and building teams.


Additional Considerations


• Experience applying and interpreting federal and state transportation rules, regulations, and
policies.
• Valid Professional Engineer's license.
• Experience in budget development and administration.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Progressively responsible experience managing others.
