Job Description: Insight Global is looking for a Construction Cost Estimator to test in-house estimating on our internal software to calculate the materials that will be going into a single family hom builds. In this role, you will leverage estimating software for framing, trim, and potentially door estimates off of plans, blue prints, etc. This role is 5 days a week in the Vancouver, WA area. Day to day: Working off of a set of plans/documents/blueprints to do a takeoff set to calculate all the materials that will go into a new home build or remodel Calculating how much wood, sheeting, flooring systems will go into a new build or remodel Review project plans and specifications to understand scope and requirements. Input data into estimating software to perform digital takeoffs and generate cost breakdowns. Calculate material, labor, and subcontractor costs using up-to-date pricing databases. Collaborate with architects, project managers, and suppliers to validate assumptions and gather quotes. Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for internal teams or clients. Revise estimates based on design changes, feedback, or updated pricing. Maintain accurate records and reports for budgeting and forecasting.
