Accountant - Worcester, PA

Allan Myers is the largest heavy civil construction company and materials provider in the Mid-Atlantic with eight regional offices and 26 asphalt and aggregate plants. The markets we serve include: design-build, site development, transportation, water, paving and asphalt and aggregate production.

The Accountant II position applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares financial reports. Provides financial insight, prepares relevant reports, maintains and readies business and financial transactions; all while working in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.

• Communicates, models and continuously reinforces company culture and leadership practices with other team members including Values, Safety, Delay Free Production, Ethics Policy, and the Collaborative Way.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as job cost or general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
• Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
• Audits contracts, change orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
• Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
• Devises and implements system for general accounting.
• Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned by immediate supervisor.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Accounting experience with heavy/civil construction and/or construction materials manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of CMiC, Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Windows.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and organizational abilities.
• Must be self-motivated and have sound critical thinking skills.
• Capable of providing strong financial leadership to internal customers.
