*D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for an*_Accounting Manager- Financial Reporting_*. The right candidate will perform a variety of accounting functions with limited supervision by being able to identify issues, research, and develop solutions by applying a strong understanding of accounting principles. Collaborate in a team environment to produce financial reports.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Prepare month-end and quarter-end close spreadsheets
* Prepare weekly operational reports for management
* Prepare quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
* Assist with the quarterly preparation of the 10Q/10K documents
* Prepare audit leads and supporting schedules
* Update the consolidated warranty accrual model
* Document Income Statement and Balance Sheet account fluctuation analyses
* Research and report on the financial performance of industry competitors
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
* Interface with internal and external auditors and provide assistance as required
* Document and adhere to internal control procedures
* Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested
*Education and/or Experience*
* Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
* Three to four years of related experience and/or training
* Understanding and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Solid understanding of financial statements and internal controls
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers (clerical to executive management)
* Initiative and ability to work with limited direction
* Must successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email
*Preferred Qualifications*
* CPA preferred
* Big 4 accounting experience preferred
* Advanced Microsoft Excel experience preferred
* Homebuilding industry experience using JD Edwards, especially G/L, is a plus
