Job Description:

Are you interested in working on infrastructure projects?

We're a community of individuals with different points of view who enjoy opportunities to share our skills and ideas. We genuinely value people who will articulate their perspectives and we're looking for an Associate Highway Engineer to join our team.

Parsons is one of the world's largest transportation planning, engineering, and construction firms. We have an extensive portfolio of diverse transportation projects including rail and transit, road and highway, bridge and tunnel, and aviation infrastructure. Parsons expertise encompasses all phases of transportation engineering operations - from the initial planning stage through final design, construction, and commissioning. Parsons has the people and power to move the world.

In this role you will be exposed to multiple projects not just in TX, but all throughout in North America. We offer mentoring, training, education reimbursement, a bonus for your first PE license, a strong backlog of work, great benefits and competitive salaries!

Parsons Corporation is Fortune 1000 engineering firm and technology solutions provider with over 16,000 employees across 24 countries and $4B in revenue.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • We are looking for a Roadway Design engineer to perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within the civil engineering discipline. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer, early in their career, to join an established team to work on many exciting new projects and proposals!

  • Our Roadway Design engineer will lay out horizontal and vertical geometry for highway and road projects, and will calculate super-elevations, roadside grading, earthwork computations, and analyze cross sections for roads and highways in Texas and elsewhere in the United States. The Engineer is also expected to perform design plan production using appropriate MicroStation tools.

  • Parsons has immediate projects with the Texas Department of Transportation and other large public agencies which will expose engineers to a large variety of tasks. Some field review activities may be associated with the assigned tasks, so engineers are expected to be able to travel for these assignments on an as-needed basis.

  • Other upcoming work opportunities include large scale design-build proposals/projects located in Texas and in other states, plus civil engineering assignments associated with various transit projects in North America.

  • Review contractor supplied drawing submittals and providing engineering solutions as needed.

  • This is a full-time position with benefits, career development, mentoring and bonus for the first PE license. Parsons has a hybrid approach for most positions allowing opportunities for work from our office and from a home-based environment.
