WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Environmental Scientist, Environmental Geologist or Environmental Engineer for our Kansas City, Missouri office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
·Assist with conducting environmental compliance reviews for local pipeline client
·Assist with obtaining federal, state, and local-level environmental permits for construction and maintenance projects
·Assist with environmental site investigation and remediation projects by collecting field and other data necessary to characterize site conditions.  Investigations typically involve collection of soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, and waste samples for field testing and laboratory analysis
·Record, evaluate, and interpret data, prepare reports and work plans, and provide analysis and interpretations of findings
·Assist with preparing project plans and technical reports of site assessment, investigation, and remediation activities and participate in analysis and interpretation of findings
·Prepare site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), and demonstrate the ability to implement safe work practices in the field in accordance with the HASP and other applicable regulations
·Perform storm water and pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspections. 
·Collecting field data using GPS units and provide GIS mapping for site plan development.
·Coordinate field activities and schedules with property/facility owner/operators in a clear, professional manner.
·Available to support and assist with Emergency Responses for pipeline client.

<div>Experience Qualifications:</div> <div class="O0">·BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field</div> <div class="O0">·0-2 years of work experience in environmental sciences or related fields</div> <div class="O0">·Ability to analyze and solve problems independently, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.</div> <div class="O0">·Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with clients and management.  </div> <div class="O0">·Ability to work as a team member with people of differing backgrounds and experience.</div> <div class="O0">·Basic working knowledge of Microsoft office products</div> <div class="O0">·Basic knowledge, or ability to learn, state environmental regulatory programs in the Central U.S.</div> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications:</div> <div class="O0">·Basic knowledge of Federal environmental laws and regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, HSWA, CWA, and NEPA.</div> <div class="O0">·Experienced or trained using Geographic Information System (GIS) software</div> <div class="O0">·Experience conducting phase I environmental site assessments following ASTM International Standard E 1527-13.</div> <div class="O0">·Experience with Wetland Delineations</div> <div class="O0">·40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training</div> <div> </div> <div>Travel Expectation:</div> <div> </div> <div class="O0">·This position will require travel routinely to various job sites across the United States, primarily in the surrounding states of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Nebraska.  Travel assignments occasionally requires multiple overnight stays within the project locale, and for some assignments, mobilizations for one to two weeks may be required.</div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
