The Audio Video Engineer is responsible for providing technical engineering information and assistance to the Senior Engineer to insure that project complies with the project requirements and all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications.  The position would be considered a lead design role for a small design group and would be able to lead several small-to-medium sized projects or a single, significant project. 


  1. Oversee designers and CAD staff assigned to your work or team of 2-5 people.
  2. Review, comment and process equipment and system submittals.
  3. Generate project specifications appropriate for the project.
  4. Develop complete and accurate sequence of operations for all designed systems.
  5. Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.
  6. Perform coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process and all electrical trades.
  7. Prepare designs for multiple systems.
  8. Possess the ability to work within fluid, dynamic situations with tight deadlines.
  9. Must have the ability to interface professionally and courteously with customers, both internal and external.
  10. Prepare systems single line diagrams, to include conduit and backbone cabling requirements.
  11. Coordinate work with the project Specifications or equipment buy-out.
  12. Check work for accuracy before passing on to others.
  13. Conduct value engineering functions.
  14. Attend project design team meetings. Interface with various team members, particularly the client, architect, and mechanical contractor/engineer.
  15. Work closely with the Rosendin Operations Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues.
  16. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
  17. Oversee Design Team during the construction in order to assure the operations team is provided proper and timely information for installation. This will include attendance at Owner and Contractor meetings.
  18. The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the positions role within the business unit.


  • InfoComm CTS or CTS-D required
  • Various levels of Crestron and/or Extron certifications preferred
  • A general understanding of system programming, such as Crestron, Extron and Biamp
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Audio Video Systems Engineer is required
  • Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience


  • Knowledge of all aspects of Audio Video systems engineering is a must including but not limited to audio/audio distribution/DSP systems, video and video distribution, control systems, digital signage, projection systems, and more
  • Working knowledge and experience with key manufacturer products such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Middle Atlantic, Shure, Polycom, Harman, Draper, Da-Lite, Tannoy, JBL, and more
  • Fluency with the Codes
  • Document and archive work pursuant to Company standards
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
