Internal Auditor

The Internal Auditor is responsible for auditing Purchasing Card (Pcard) transactions, Payroll Expense Reimbursement reports, and other internal audit functions.  Conducts all work in accordance with Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.  We need an innovative, forward-thinking professional who doesnt mind digging into data and searching for potential loopholes and vulnerabilities.  The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a sound judgement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews and audits transactions in monthly Pcard reports and monthly payroll expense reimbursement reports to ensure all purchases and reimbursements are in accordance with Company policy.
• Enforce Company policies and procedures while also making recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes.
• Reviews periodic financial reports regarding Pcard and expense reimbursement activity, investigates significant variances, and makes recommendations for correction.
• Protect Company against fraud and theft of organizations assets.
• Conduct internal audits of other financial data, including payroll, accounts payable, and cash information, as requested.
• Prepares reports and preserves documentation pertaining to audits for internal record.
• Coordinate monthly review meetings with individuals and departments to update auditees on findings and the audit process.

Qualifications

• Four year Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years experience in accounting and auditing.  Strong communication (both verbal and written), strong organizational skills and excellent technical knowledge required.
• A deep commitment to compliance and enforcement of company policies
• Must have ability to work independently and be flexible
• High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
• Ability to maintain composure, professionalism in all situations
• Proficient in written and verbal business communications skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Suites (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Knowledge of IDEA software a plus
