Fleet Maintenance Technician/Safety Inspection Quality Assurance Officer

Opportunity:

Do you have experience in vehicle maintenance and inspection and emissions testing? Are you looking for a role where you can continue to work on vehicles, but aren't underneath the hood all day? Are you seeking a more set routine schedule? If so, Parsons is currently seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician in our Harrisburg, PA office to support our project with the Pennsylvania DOT.

The successful candidate will work Monday-Friday 8-5, with 70%of the work can be done from home and on the road with paid mileage for travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Tech will perform light to medium mechanical work on our fleet vehicles. Position will be responsible maintaining all maintenance records on the vehicles, as well as diagnosing/trouble shooting any mechanical problems experienced by the drivers. Applicant must have good computer, as well as written and verbal communication skills in order to write up reports.

In addition to the maintenance work on vehicles, this position will also audit existing safety and emissions inspection stations throughout the State. Audits will determine if an inspection station is meeting the criteria set forth by the State of Pennsylvania to be able to conduct vehicle inspections. The position will perform re-inspections on customer vehicles to determine if a faulty inspection has occurred. The position will be responsible for recording all aspects of an audit/re-inspection on an electronic auditing form to document their findings. Typical work week would consist of Monday through Friday, 8 - 5.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ASE Certified or willing to be trained
  • Minimum 5 years as a certified automotive technician
  • Minimum of 3 current ASE certifications or will train the right candidate, with at least one in Engine Performance; Safety Inspection license where applicable; Certified Emissions Inspector license; Certified Repair Technician license or willing to obtain CERT license.
  • The hours are Monday-Friday 8-5. 70% of the time can work at home or on the road.
