WSP USA has an immediate opening for a Bridge Inspection Engineer to join our growing Bridge Inspection team in Mooresville, North Carolina supporting our Carolinas Bridge Inspection and Engineering projects. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under minimal supervision performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger one.
  • Review previous inspection reports and assist in the planning of field operations
  • Perform inspection work and compile reports
  • Receive directions from Project Manager and other senior staff
  • Perform structural analysis and design of bridge structures
  • Coordinate closely with other structural engineers on projects
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Coordinate with CADD staff and participate in plan production

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in civil / structural engineering
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work well in team-oriented structur
  • Excellent attention to detail and Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%
  • Cognizant of time and budget management
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some experience in field inspection or surveying
  • EI Certiifcation
  • FHWA Certified or ability to obtain
