WSP is currently seeking a highly-qualified Business Analyst to help lead the WSP team in Lisle, Illinois.
This position will be a part of the Illinois Tollway General Engineering Consultant project, focusing on business and technology to allow for the development of integrated solutions to resolve technical and business issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply in-depth professional experience and broad knowledge of both business and technology to analyze and develop integrated solutions to resolve moderate to complex technical or business issues.
  • Actively participate and interact with customers to understand business needs, identify the best solution, and architect the processes to meet the needs.
  • Assist in the analysis and design of new business processes around requirements definition, information gathering, and consistent documentation methodologies. Using multiple information gathering techniques, conduct facilitated sessions with customers to define detailed business requirements for solution development. Establish and maintain clear scope boundaries for the solution.
  • Recognize the business’s needs and the implications of change. Formulate alternative solutions to satisfy business requirements.
  • Author, review, analyze, and document business systems and user requirements producing deliverables such as use cases, user stories, test cases, functional specifications, workflow process diagrams, data flow / data model diagrams.
  • Partner with business architects and other planners to assess current capabilities and identify high-level requirements.
  • Review test conditions and expected results for product, performance and user acceptance testing.
  • Continue to build on technical and business knowledge. Seek out innovations in process improvement, better utilization of resources, product enhancements, improved communications and faster issue resolution.
  • Identify project risks and provide alternatives for reducing risk, along with communication to the stakeholders.
  • Professional development/mentoring and training of professional staff and finding excellent talent for future growth.
  • Preparation and review of technical reports.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in MIS, computer science or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Ability to liaise with various stakeholders and create a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business.
  • Ability to use fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills to translate concepts and requirements into process diagrams, page wireframes or page mock-ups.
  • Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
  • Ability to review and manage the learning and development quotient via user guides and conducting user training.
  • Evidence working in a fast paced, complex environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferably in MIS, computer science or a related field.
  • Experience in IT ERP system analysis and implementation.
