SUMMARY
Under the direction of the President, Business Development Manager ensures the best possible support to the company’s Sales & Marketing program, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

  1. All the duties of the Business Development Manager as assigned by the President, Ben Westra. 
  2. Employee to be based at the Beaver Dam, WI office, with travel to prospective clients and conferences. 
  3. Develop a prospective list of clients and maintain communication, with follow-up by phone, correspondence, or in person. 
  4. Identify target markets to be pursued and developed based on goals of the company. 
  5. Attend conventions as requested by supervisor. 
  6. Follow up with the client before, during, and after the project to ascertain their needs and relationship with WDS. 
  7. Through joint planning with management, determine and formulate sales and marketing objectives, policies, and programs. 
  8. Make client visits and maintain contacts with customers to increase bid opportunities and closing contracts with customers. 
  9. Handle inquiries; provide advertising material and other services as required. 
  10. Promote company services in local communities to increase visibility. 
  11. Develop, manage and assist with client or future client relationships. 
  12. Maintain strong communication skills both orally and in writing. 
  13. Must be flexible and ready to act when lead comes in. 
  14. Employee will be expected to travel from time to time as assigned by his/her supervisor. This may be accomplished by the employee driving and/or at the discretion of the employer, by using a commercial or private charter.

Education and/or Experience Requires education generally equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with courses in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration plus a broad sales/marketing experience of five or more years. Prefer previous managerial experience and construction knowledge.
