CAD/CAFM Technician

JOB SUMMARY  

The CAD/CAFM Technician (CCT) is responsible for contributing to the company Occupancy Managements database of master AutoCAD drawings, ensuring accuracy and linkage to the Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system. Provides support for occupancy planning projects related to CAD and space management, maintaining master facility drawings.

Maintains space allocation and gross area records for reporting purposes.

The CCT will review and follow the companies means of cataloging, standardizing and updating/modifying CAD drawings as required.

The CCT will work with various groups in the company to gather the data for accurate CAD drawings. Keep accurate dwg records to indicate square footage by room, department and building, share issues and provide potential resolutions in a professional manner to educate and bring about best possible service delivery.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Assist with day to day CAD support of current global portfolio.

Confirm drawings are following recommended format provided by company and identify any conflicts with company standards.

Clean up all existing and incoming CAD drawings to company standards.

Modify and update master drawings per as-built as needed.

Create polylines for all spaces as required for CAFM system for space and occupancy planning.

Verify all spaces (rooms) are numbered, including space types, and follow the company naming convention.

Review and update space boundaries in drawing per standards.

Review and update layer and blocking schemas in the drawings.

Manage furniture blocks and groups within drawings to optimize drawings.

Assist Space Planners with mockup and design fit drawings.

Other Duties as Assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE  

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Master's degree preferred. Minimum two years of related experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS  

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE  

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.


REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES  

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project. Organizational skills and the ability to think critically.


SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY  

Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
