*D.R. Horton, Inc*. is currently looking for a*_Chief Title Officer_***for their Title Plant Department in North Phoenix, AZ. The right candidate willbe responsible for examining and directing the examination and interpretation of all complex legal documents in issuing evidence of title; reconciling title problems and developing and maintaining business by the use of sales and service techniques.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Ability to perform all tasks of all personnel under his/her supervision, if applicable
* Examine and direct the examination of a variety of complex title orders involving the issuance of leaseholds and extended owners, lenders, optionees, subdivision reports and litigation guarantees, and other highly involved property interests characterized by pressing and changing requirements
* Perform special projects with the proper follow through, drive and initiative to see the project to completion
* Support and communicate with branch offices and answer questions and/or requests in a timely manner
* Interpret extensive and unusual customer instructions, adapts company examining, report and policy procedures accordingly
* Direct the activities of other title officers, examiners and report/policy processors in the preparation of all preliminary reports for issuance of a single policy
* Reconcile conclusions of title examinations with extensive and unusual customer requirements such as, an extended coverage order requiring the elimination or insurance of exceptions not insured in the standard policy
* Advise other title officers, examiners, searchers and title department personnel regarding searching, examining and policy procedures and the insurability of complex and unusual orders
* Assist supervisor in assigning work and monitoring production of clerical and title support personnel
* Work with underwriters to insure titles within the scope of their policies and procedures
* Investigate and assist in solving potential claims and/or actual claims which may arise after issuance of a title policy
* Support and follow all Company initiatives and procedures
* Complete a production report on a weekly and monthly basis
* Encourage employee development and professional growth by providing regular and timely feedback
* Understand and agree to all DHI Title expense policy procedures
* Maintain an organized office atmosphere
* Participate in company sponsored seminars, meetings and training
* Additional duties as assigned
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
*Supervisory Responsibilities*

Directly manages two or more employees in the Escrow Branch Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

*Education and/or Experience*

* Bachelors degree in Business Management or related field; or four to ten years related experience and/or training
* Knowledge in real estate financing and conveyance transactions
* Experience working with title insurance requirements, policies, endorsements, legal descriptions and underwriting procedures
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email

*Preferred Qualifications*

* Masters degree preferred
