WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil/Drainage Engineer for our Charlotte office. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Essential design team member responsible for drainage and erosion control design on  municipal and transportation projects
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies and designs using hydrologic and hydraulic software
  • Prepare documents including reports, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates with support from a Supervising Engineer
  • Support business development on a variety of water resource and interdisciplinary projects
  • Support engineering project teams by attending project meetings and interacting with clients, officials, contractors, and other stakeholders

<div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3-5 years of related post-graduate work as a Civil Engineer and project experience in some or all of the following areas:</li> <li>Drainage and erosion control design on local municipal or NCDOT projects</li> <li>Bridge hydraulic analysis and flood studies;</li> <li>Potable water distribution systems, wastewater conveyance systems and pump station design</li> <li>Experience with developing plans, specifications, and technical drainage reports and, ensuring complete and accurate work in accordance with good engineering practice;</li> <li>Strong skills in AutoCAD and/or Microstation/GeoPak</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, Water Resources, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program</li> <li>Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) license required; ability to obtain North Carolina P.E. within 6 months required.</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div>Desired Qualifications:</div> <ul> <li>Preferred experience with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) highway drainage projects</li> <li>Experience with Microstation, GeoPak Drainage and HEC-RAS is highly desirable</li> <li>Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement are highly desirable </li> </ul> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
