WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Supervising Engineer (Roadway) for our Houston based team.  WSP USA is a global consulting firm assisting public and private clients to plan, develop, design, construct, operate and maintain thousands of critical infrastructure projects around the world.  The Houston office is seeking a with experience in the design of Transportation and Highway projects.  This position will function as a Design Engineer, this position works as part of a project team and leads civil design work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical leadership in the design of transportation projects
  • Lead Discipline Team in the development of PS&E plans from conceptual to preliminary and final design. The design team will include other professional engineers, engineering interns, designers, CAD staff, and other technical staff.
  • Assist technical discipline leads, and marketing staff in the identification of local agency pursuits and writing the technical aspects of proposals;
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines such as structures, hydraulics, traffic, and utilities, etc
  • Quantity Take Offs and Construction Cost Estimating.
  • Perform Site Visit

<div><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></div> <div> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an accredited University or College.</li> <li>Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of related experience in Transportation design.</li> <li>Professional Engineering License in the State of Texas is required.</li> <li>Experience in engineering development using Bentley Microstation.</li> <li>Proficient in MicroStation, PowerGeopak or Power InRoads</li> <li>Verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and with others.</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></div> <div><strong><br /></strong></div> <div> <ul> <li>Applied knowledge and understanding with TxDOT Design.</li> <li>Applied knowledge and understanding with City of Houston Design a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with the Manual of Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) or AASHTO Green Book. </li> <li>Proficiency in ArcGIS; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF-editing programs is preferred.</li> <li>Experience in Hydraulics and Hydrology is a plus</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>About WSP USA</strong></div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
