Job Description Summary

As a Commercial Policy Typist working for Inspired Title Services, Taylor Morrisons title company, you will be responsible for all post-closing functions, including auditing the file to ensure all requirements have been met/satisfied, appropriate documentation has been obtained and is documented in the file, and for the preparation of final policies in accordance with final commitment and pro forma, and delivery of same to the appropriate parties to the transaction.

We trust that as a Commercial Policy Typist you will or have: (responsibilities)

  • Ability toReview, verify, organize and audit closed title files to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate with appropriate parties to resolve questions and concerns regarding title file
  • Prepare Owners, Loan and Interim Construction Binder title insurance policies and distribute to appropriate parties
  • You are willing to perform other related duties as assigned
  • Pull policy jackets from underwriters websites or thru Softpro 360
  • Verify premium amounts and whether or not commitment requirements have been cleared at closing
  • Confirm HI/LO (Over limits) approval was received and conditions met

About you:

  • High School Diploma (Bachelors or Associate's degree a plus); or five (5) years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be, or able to be, licensed & bonded and remain in good standing with the state of Texas while adhering to any Texas state licensing continuing education requirements
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-centric environment
  • Must be of high integrity, technical competence and high moral character
  • Strong communications skills written, verbal, and listening
  • Highly proficient level of computer skills in title production and closing software (e.g. SoftPro, Ramquest, ResWare) including spreadsheet, word processing, and power point
  • Be multi-tasked oriented with attention to detail
  • Plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Familiar with documents involved in sales, purchase, and/or refinancing of real property in the State of Texas
  • Ability to review HI\LO over limits approvals in Texas
  • Experience in SoftPro Select (Preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Texas Title Policies and endorsements
  • Experience with ALTA Title Policies and endorsements (Preferred but not required)
  • Know title insurance requirements, legal descriptions and underwriting procedures
  • Ability to work within multiple computer applications for data entry and file management
  • Familiarity with title searching software, such as DATA Trace, Integrity, etc.(Preferred but not required)
  • Superior reading skills with the ability to interpret documents
  • Willingness to ask questions when needed

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Will have responsibilities such as:

  • This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.
