Communications Coordinator

Position Summary:

The person in this role will be asked to coordinate a range of communications activities, interfacing with internal clients, and campaign and event planning and coordination. S/he will participate in message development, design, and execution, as well as platform training, moderation, governance, growth, maintenance, and analytics working closely with IT \u0026 HR.

The Communications Coordinator will seek to increase Team Member awareness, understanding, and engagement while inspiring multi-directional communication across multiple channels and supporting change management initiatives. This position is 75% internal communications and 25% external marketing.

Reports to: Director of Administration \u0026 Budgeting

Status: Full-Time, Salary

Responsibilities:

Manage internal communications output

Prepare strategic communication plan for company consistent with the organization™s strategic vision

Publish timely company information, such as memos and company directives

Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications campaigns and strategies

Suggest what information should be presented to Team Members

Set timing of release to coordinate with company events or initiatives

Support ideas with research and experience

Refine core messaging to ensure organizational consistency in all aspects of communication including development, organizing, and education

Ensure consistent framing of messages and consistent brand voice

Publish videos and photography on company website, blogs, and social media platforms

Edit and revise content and copy as necessary

Edit, design, and print internal publications

Write a variety of different content to support communications and marketing efforts, including newsletters, website/intranet copy, internal messaging, etc.

Respond to media inquiries and maintain relationships with journalists and other members of the press

Manage the company™s social media and online presence

Assist with the planning and coordination of events

Ensure that all promotional and marketing materials meet the company™s brand strategy

Collaborate with executives and managers on the role they play in effective internal communications

Ensure communications and information are timely, reliable, and accessible

Stay up to date on industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practices. Adjust the communication plan as needed



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\u0027s degree in marketing, communications, English, public relations, or journalism
  • Experience in an internal communications role preferred
  • Superior time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills and the journalistic ability to source stories from staff
  • An analytical mind and ability to think critically
  • Social media management experience
  • Experience with Adobe Suite, SharePoint, Teams, and MS Office Suite
  • A high level of creativity, capable of creating visually compelling graphics and presentations
  • Knowledge of email and SMS marketing software
  • Proven knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices
  • Confidence to engage with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them
  • Proficient public speaking abilities are an asset

Must have exceptional communication skills both in written and verbal form

Ability to prioritize and execute in high-pressure environments while making sound business decisions

Team player and with strong interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Attention to detail and follow-through a must
