Construction Estimator - Commercial/Multifamily

J Paul Roofing & Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team of construction professionals and help facilitate multifamily and commercial bid opportunities. This position will assist in expanding brand recognition, increasing revenue growth, and developing relationships by gathering job specific information from property owners, managers, and other key personnel to deliver detailed proposals in an efficient and timely manner.

We need someone with strong math skills and excellent communication skills to write proposals, cost estimates, and detailed takeoffs on our construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Visit construction sites to obtain necessary client requirement information
• Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole
• Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors
• Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine overall cost for construction projects
• Produce written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and project managers
• Provide accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs
• Follow up with clients on submitted proposal and budgets

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry - project estimating or construction management is needed
• Understanding of accounting, data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics is vital
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and construction estimating software
• Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, and very strong math skills
• Stellar communication, project management, and time-management skills are crucial
