WSP is currently initiating a search for a Principal Supervising Inspector (NICET IV) for our New York, New York office.  The position will perform construction inspection of structural steel and concrete repairs within the grand central terminal train shed.  Other work items may include MPT, utility coordination,  roadway repairs, and force account coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review existing conditions and verify repair limits of deteriorated structural steel.
  • Reviewing work to be in conformance with the plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Performing Quality Assurance inspections
  • Communicate with all project personnel including force account, contractors, etc.
  • Create complete inspection reports that document all on site activities
  • Create computation sheets to support pay items on daily inspection reports
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Night work and weekend work likely

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum NICET IV or equivalent required
  • B.S. degree in relevant field (construction, transportation, or engineering)
  • Ability to measure and compute lengths, areas, and volumes
  • Minimum 13+ years of MTA experience (MNR/LIRR/NYCT)
  • Ability to utilize a computer based document control system
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
