Purpose

 

Reporting to the Client Executive or Project Manager I, this position is primarily responsible for all aspects of an assigned construction project to ensure a successful completion and satisfaction of contractual requirements.  This includes, but is not limited to, client / business development, budget management, schedule management, project safety, QA/QC management, and project team career development. 

 

Experience

 

    • Bachelor’s degree required, in Construction or Engineering

 

    • 5 – 8 years commercial construction related experience in project oversight or field supervision

 

Qualifications

 

    • Understanding of and ability to manage a variety of construction methods, including by not limited to structural steel, concrete, and MEPF systems

 

    • Ability to perceive needs of others and communicate/demonstrate how needs will be satisfied

 

    • Ability to effectively manage conflict and emergency situations

 

    • Ability to effectively use computer systems

 

Primary Duties

 

    • Lead job site team, including directly supervising a staff of superintendents, engineers, and administrators to achieve financial, productivity, quality, safety objectives, and project margin goals

 

    • Actively participate in the career development of members of the project team

 

    • Manage dynamic relationships between all parties involved in assigned construction project

 

    • Manage project finances, including but not limited to buyout within the established estimate, owner directed changes, and subcontractor change management

 

    • Develop and maintain Synchro construction schedule, tracking progress and planning upcoming work to achieve project schedule’s milestones

 

    • Develop a project specific safety plan that creates a culture of safe work behavior on site, and oversee the implementation and maintenance of the plan

 

    • Develop a QA/QC plan for the project, and oversee the implementation and maintenance of the plan

 

    • Develop detailed subcontractor scope descriptions, providing thorough review of subcontractor proposal to ensure scope inclusions

 

    • Manage, with intermittent supervision, an interior build out/renovation project or medium complexity new construction project

 

    • Ensure coverage of project estimate by reviewing construction documents and identifying and addressing potential scope gaps

 

    • Perform constructability review during preconstruction and provide solutions to potential issues

 

    • Ensure Linbeck service meets the owner’s objectives

 

    • Perform business development with project’s owner, design team and subcontractor partners

 

    • Anticipate potential project issues, plan activities to prevent problems and accomplish project objectives

 

    • Develop a Crisis Management plan for the project

 

    • Identify actual and potential safety hazards and take appropriate steps to remove safety hazards

 

    • Manage interaction of corporate departments and subsidiaries with the project team

 

    • Act as project team leader and champion in the implementation and enforcement of company policies and procedures

 

    • Participate and contribute to development of company policies and procedures

 

    • Utilize lean construction practices at all levels of project and project staff

 

    • Demonstrate elimination of waste through self and staff lean videos

 

Physical Requirements

 

Office environment.  Must be physically fit enough to function safely on the job site.
