SUMMARY

VMS Construction, a full service commercial and residential construction company, is seeking a highly motivated Construction Superintendent. The ideal candidate will coordinate and oversee construction while providing VMS clients with the highest quality of service in residential, institutional, retail, healthcare, and industrial type projects.

HISTORY OF VMS CONSTRUCTION

VMS Construction, Inc. was created in 1992 under the former name of The Quinn Company, Inc. and structured to operate as a General Construction and Construction Management firm in Rutland, Vermont.Victor M. Shappy joined the company in 1994, acquired ownership in the company in 2001, and became President in 2006.Victor Shappy was previously employed by two of Vermont’s largest general construction firms performing similar functions to those he provides to this company today.

The hallmarks of VMS Construction are communication, cooperation, respect and trust. VMS employs office and field administrative personnel who have developed an extensive knowledge in contracting and management, and have worked with VMS or its principals in some cases for well over thirty years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•                     Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and Project Managers.

•                     Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and subcontractors

•                     Assist in setting project goals and deadlines

•                     Maintain daily job logs and as-built drawings

•                     Strong time management and organizational skills

•                     Monitor and report on project progress.

•                     Perform quality control and safety checks.

•                     Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in the commercial/residential construction industry

•                     Experience supervising and managing a team of tradesmen to meet set project schedules

•                     Basic computer skills

•                     Knowledge of Procore project management software a plus

•                     OSHA certifications a plus
