Contract Manager

Position Summary:

The Contracts Manager is responsible for writing and managing up to $40M+ contracts and support the Procurement teams previously executed contracts. This will include developing contract solutions that support the overall business objectives and promotes an environment of continuous improvement. This position will partner with Sr. Leadership in strategic assessments of current contracts and future agreements utilizing her/his knowledge to negotiate and create the best possible decisions and outcomes for the company.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing the negotiation and administration of assigned contracts, ensuring contractual compliance with relevant terms and conditions, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements, with an emphasis on activities such as Intellectual property, scope changes, and changing specifications.
  • Ensuring internal contractual compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts, and compliance with designated management objectives.
  • Prepares appropriate contractual responses to meet applicable law and regulatory requirements as well as contractual requirements. Researches changes or revisions to understand approach.
  • Maintains contractual documents, files, correspondence, meeting minutes and other appropriate and applicable documents and corresponding logs.
  • Will need to have the ability to organize and communicate negotiation results to senior management and ensure legal adequacy prior to execution.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant contractual procedures and practices.
  • Reviews various complex documents, agreements and contracts for areas of improvement or revision; creates and revises documents as appropriate.
  • Reviews contracts in area of assignment on a regular basis; advises managers regarding potential improvements or issues. Identifies course of action and works in conjunction with management to implement. Creates additional approaches to other contracts.
  • Works in conjunction with interdisciplinary team to ensure contractual requirements are met as determined by established deliverables; ensures adherence to those deliverables; communicates milestones and commitments.
  • Acts as an interface and point of contact with the vendor and internal staff regarding contractual issues; resolves issues and communicates approach.
  • Participates in developing vendor alignment strategies and performs agreement dispositions to achieve specified performance and financial objectives.
  • Reviews all aspects of proposed transactions in light of corporate policy and applicable laws. Advises on agreements and business risks and alternative actions as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\u0027s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor\u0027s degree in business administration or related field preferred
  • Three or more years of contract administration experience
  • Experience working with contract administration, concepts, practices, procedures regulations and other appropriate laws
