WSP is currently initiating a search for a Coordinator, Technician for our New York City, NY office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee asbestos abatement work to insure that work is performed in accordance and in compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
  • Determine and monitor final air clearance during asbestos abatements.
  • Collect PCM and TEM air samples and properly record chain of custodies, daily logs, and maintain involvement in project oversigna nd result reporting in fulfillment with assessment and monitoring requirements of asbestos abatements.
  • Position entails frequent travel throughout New York City, State, and Long Island. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Monitoring may include:  Asbestos and/or Lead Investigations; and Asbestos and/or Lead abatement monitoring.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school graduate with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience 
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights and weekends
  • OSHA 10-hr/30-hr Construction Certificate
  • Updated Fit Test and Medical Testing documents a plus
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications (at least three of the following licenses):
  • NY Licensed Asbestos Inspector
  • NY Project Monitor
  • NY Asbestos Sampling Technician
  • NYC Asbestos Investigator
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health
