As a Corporate Tax Director working for Taylor Morrison you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day management of the Tax Team. Specific focus will be on the provision for income taxes, federal and state income taxes, and tax planning. The position will have extensive interaction with leadership team as well as many internal departments and external auditors. The Tax Director will spend a substantial amount of time managing the federal and state income taxes of the Company, with special emphasis on quarterly and yearend tax provisions, tax compliance, forecasting, planning and research.

We trust that as a Corporate Tax Director you will: (responsibilities)
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to Tax Team
- Identify ways to improve tax processes and workpapers, including the use of tax technology tools to help automate workflows.
- Review prepared income tax disclosures and footnotes in line with SEC and PCAOB requirements
- Work effectively with external auditors and outside tax advisors
- Develop and foster relationships with internal stakeholders across all areas of the business
- Prepare and communicate updates to the board and executive leadership team
- Monitor legislative changes and communicate impacts to Senior Management.
- Plan and manage the preparation of state and federal tax returns
- Interpret the U.S. tax code and research the implications of tax laws
- Manage cash taxes and oversee all aspects of the tax forecasting process
- Evaluate and maintain internal controls around the tax process for accuracy
- Manage tax controversy/audits that may arise
- Research and develop tax-saving strategies
- Reconcile tax data on financial statements
- Plan, direct, and execute various tax projects
- Perform research and prepare/review technical tax memorandums
- Perform other duties as assigned

About you:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Master’s Degree in taxation preferred
- CPA Certification preferred
- 8+ years of experience in corporate tax and public accounting. Work experience with Big 4 accounting firm(s) preferred.
- Supervisory experience (5+ years).
- Experience with tax related Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Experience with SEC tax related reporting requirements
- ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes experience
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software (OneSource Tax Provision, RIA, FAS, etc.), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
FLSA Status: Exempt
Will have responsibilities such as:

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
