As a Data Architect III you will be responsible for translating business requirements into solutions enabling business value in areas which may include analytics, data pipelines and complex real time or batch processing of data and defining and documenting the data strategy for the organization.

What Youll Do

  • The role of the Data Architect will be to translate business requirements into solutions enabling business value in areas which may include analytics, data pipelines and complex real time or batch processing of data.
  • Define and document the data strategy for the organization and develop database solutions by designing proposed systems; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, replication and recovery specifications while ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security. This would include data flows, access techniques, installation and implementation processes, maintenance processes and mapping and modeling processes.
  • Can provide the team the following capabilities for delivery: capable of all data architecture roles, data flow logistics, data security engineer, infrastructure surrounding data needs, statistics, machine learning, multivariable calculus & linear algebra and data intuition
  • Responsible for all aspects of the data management process using human-centered design; from understanding the business and user needs, framing the problem to solve, designing from concepts to prototypes and collaborating with the product squad to implement
  • Develop a process which can be applied to any user-facing requirements (future and current) and often requires interactions with groups that create dependencies for the design (technical, other departments, vendors, etc.)
  • Has a deep knowledge of the customer / users and application function; ensures the experience is valuable, easy to use, visually appealing and engaging to customers as well as a deep knowledge of the business domain
  • Conducts research to understand the technical capabilities and tools as well as the user and overall experience (creates and maintains user personas, facilitates usability testing, data architecture design, tools available for statistical analysis and machine learning, etc.)
  • Collaborates to frame the problem and create a solution that supports an effective user experience (future roadmap to feature design)
  • Interact with business and technologies peers
  • Provide appropriate estimates on development tasks and capacity requirements
  • Complete source to target mappings
  • Develop, code, test and implement data solutions according to business requirements
  • Design job/job stream flows via scheduling tool, ensuring proper dependencies within enterprise schedules
  • Provide assistance and resolution for any production related issues
  • Be accountable for application performance monitoring and tuning
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data warehouse
  • Monitor system's health and performance
  • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training. Masters degree preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data warehouse development, data analysis or data management role including framework, application solutions, ETL development and dimensional/tabular modeling
  • 3+ years experience with UNIX Shell Scripting and SQL
  • Experience delivering data solutions for, or within, an analytic or business intelligence environment
  • Source code management in Git or Subversion
  • BI tool (preferably Power BI) experience

Preferred Qualifications-Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Demonstrated achievement in developing analytical data layers/applications with large data volume
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a positive "can-do" attitude with ability to develop creative solutions
  • Knowledge of C and PHP languages
  • Proven ability to work in distributed systems
  • Experience in DevOps, SSIS or other competing tools in the market preferred
  • A passion for technology, continuous improvement, quality and helping others grow
  • Oracle or other database proficiency required
  • Visual Studio and Red Gate experience

  • This position reports through the IT organization but works with the Internal Audit organization where needed to achieve our compliance goals.
  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community once or twice weekly and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher level manager
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Comply with company policies and procedure

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
