Job Description
The role ofDesign-Build Manageris to ensure Lane design partners, our pursuit teams and our construction delivery personnel are aligned in the scope, schedule and deliverables needed to win and build the project. Specifically, theDesign-Build Manageris responsible for managing, planning and controlling design activities, which includes:
Drive design innovation
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all project design deliverables
Organize task force or technical working group (TWG) meeting
Support The Pursuits Group technical proposal development
Approve the final technical proposal
Confirm design approach with clear and timely instruction to designer
Coordinate with the estimating and construction team on schedule, constructability, means and methods, and incorporating feedback to designer
Require designer to utilize transmittal convention through design development at all stages.
Ensure appropriate design resources are provided by design partner throughout life of the project
Review design change claim request
Approve design fee and manage design fee expenditure
Coordinate with the construction team on quantity control and validation. Reflect feedback to design as appropriate
Support project contract claim activities
Coordinate and prioritize with Project Team to develop work packages that support start of construction operations as early and efficiently as possible
Maintain all engineering documents (plans, specifications, etc.) including a transmittal log
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline
10 years of experience in construction
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
Previous experience in heavy civil construction is desired
