Note: New to state civil service employees will be hired at the minimum of the salary range.

Under the direction of the Occupational Licensing (OL) Supervising Special Investigator I (SSI I), the OL District Representative II (DR II) works in the assigned Northern California Counties and is responsible for assisting the SSI, Codes and Standards Administrator III (CSA III), and other division administrators, with investigative duties to help protect California consumers.

  • US Citizenship or permanent resident alien who has eligibility and has applied
  • Minimum Age of 18
  • Applicants must met the PC832 requirements at the time of employment or satisfactory complete within 12 months of hire date

Disqualifications

  • Felony disqualification: pursuant Government Code Section 1029         

Applications must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s license as condition of employment and be willing to travel.

Applicants (incumbent) must have satisfactory completed the training requirements of Penal Code 832 or complete the requirement within 12 months of appointment.

Applicants will work from their home office and will cover an assigned area serving Northern California.  Successful candidate must live within 25 miles of assigned territory.

If hired, candidate must attend mandatory training in Sacramento for up to six months.

  1. Your ability to conduct investigations associated with California laws and/or regulations.
  2. Experience, education, and/or training related to writing investigative reports or any other types of official documents.
  3. Your ability to efficiently manage a sizeable caseload or assignments.
  4. Your ability to communicate effectively.
